In short: How often you buy CBD oil comes down to your dose, and the best one is the lowest that works for you, so it's personal. If you do want a rough guide, our most popular oil, the Strong (1500mg), should last about 2 months at 25mg a day. But honestly, the best thing to do is use our calculator.

How long does a bottle of CBD oil last?

It depends on two things: how many milligrams you take each day, and how many milligrams of CBD are in the whole bottle. Then it's simple: divide the CBD in the bottle by your daily dose, and that's how many days it will last.

We've put together a handy table for a 25mg-a-day dose across our 3 oils:

Bottle How long it lasts at 25mg a day
Strong Mini (500mg) about 20 days
Strong (1500mg) about 2 months
Super Strong (3000mg) about 4 months

The Strong is the one most people reach for, and it makes a useful benchmark: 0.5ml of it is 25mg, so one daily dose lasts roughly 2 months from a 30ml bottle. Take more or less than that and the maths simply shifts to match.

How do you find your own dose?

Start low and build up slowly. Begin with a drop or two, once or twice a day, give it a couple of weeks, and note how you feel. If you need more, add a little and try again. The aim is the lowest amount that does the job, not the highest you can manage. Our beginner's guide to dosing walks through it in more detail.

Our dosage calculator does the working for you: add a few details and it suggests a sensible starting point, and how long each bottle would last at that dose. It's the quickest way to turn "how often should I buy" into an actual answer. It also helps to keep a simple note of your dose and how you feel as you go, so you can see what's working.

Find your lowest effective dose, then you can work out how often you need to reorder.

How often should you reorder?

Reorder a little before you run out, so you're not caught short. Beyond that, how often you buy is genuinely personal, and we'd rather you got it right than over-bought. Plenty of people find a smaller dose works than they first assumed, which means a bottle stretches further and they reorder less often.

And whenever you do reorder, there's no code to hunt for. We don't run flash sales or Black Friday, so what you see is always our best price. Buy more in one go and the saving is applied automatically at checkout. There's more on how that works in Order More, Save More.

Does CBD oil go off before you finish it?

Usually not, as long as you're not buying more than you'll get through. Most oils keep for 12 to 24 months when stored properly, and a couple of months' supply will be long gone before that matters. Keep your bottle somewhere cool and dark with the lid closed and it will be fine. We cover this in Does CBD Oil Expire? and How To Store CBD Oil.

In practice, there's no need to buy years of supply at once. A bottle or two at a time is plenty.

Is it worth buying the bigger bottle?

It's simple, really. If you take CBD regularly, a bigger bottle works out much better value and means fewer reorders. If you only use it now and then, you're probably better off sticking with the Strong Mini.
