Joe Wilde co-founded Unspun with his wife, Gemma, in 2022, on a mission to make CBD beautifully simple. Having returned to the UK after 7 years in San Francisco, Joe noticed that while CBD was increasingly popular back home, the market was messy, full of confusing products, inconsistent labelling, and varying quality. With an eye for clarity and simplicity, Joe and Gemma set out to shake things up, founding Unspun with a straightforward promise: premium broad-spectrum CBD products, consistent labels, transparent pricing, fantastic customer service, free shipping, and hassle-free returns.
Their inspiration wasn't just professional. Joe and Gemma personally found CBD incredibly helpful in managing daily stress and anxiety, helping them achieve a better balance between family and work. For Joe, there was a very specific turning point. CBD gummies were a surprising and highly effective relief after his vasectomy, reinforcing his belief in the potential of quality CBD.
Before launching Unspun, Joe spent almost a decade as a Senior Manager at Accenture, helping businesses harness emerging technologies, while Gemma, a user experience director, crafted digital experiences for high-profile clients such as Amazon and Google. Their combined expertise means Unspun places exceptional user experience at the heart of everything they do.
Today, Unspun continues to innovate, with exciting new chocolate products launching this year. Meanwhile, Joe is pursuing a Master's in Entrepreneurship to ensure Unspun grows sustainably and contributes positively to Staffordshire’s growing entrepreneurial community. He’s passionate about collaborating with local brands and thoughtfully expanding the product range.
Outside of work, Joe is the father to two children, a devoted motorsport fan and a lover of science fiction adventures. When he's not working on growing Unspun, you'll find him enjoying the great outdoors – his favourite place to unwind and recharge.
